The Galactic Patrol has asked Goku and Vegeta to find the fugitive Moro and bring him in for arrest. New Namek is where Moro finally puts an end to them, and with the help of the Namekians and their Dragon Balls, he is able to reclaim his former strength. When he gets his hands on the Dragon Balls, he uses them to break all of the prisoners kept by the Patrol. Inmates Moro and the others go on a rampage as Goku and Vegeta prepare for their rematch. While Vegeta is out on Planet Yardrat, Goku trains to use Ultra Instinct anytime he wants. On Earth, Goku’s allies put up a fight against Moro’s army so that he and Vegeta can arrive and finish him out. In his desperation, Moro has threatened to kill himself by fusing with Earth. By channeling the power of Vegeta’s enhanced skills, Goku is able to vanquish Moro and rescue the world.
After spending some time away, Goku and Vegeta got back to training with Whis and Beerus. During this time, a Cerelian mercenary by the name of Granolah learns through the Heeters that Frieza is still alive. Granolah swears on Cereal’s honor to destroy Frieza and get vengeance for his world. By utilizing his home planet’s Dragon Balls, Granolah hopes to become the most powerful fighter in the galaxy, but this will require him to sacrifice his life. Because of the Heeters’ deception, Goku and Vegeta are drawn into a fight against Granolah. Even though Goku and Vegeta are improving their fighting skills and Vegeta has even transformed into a new form of her Ultra Ego as a consequence of their fight with Granolah, she still manages to defeat them. Namekian Monaito, Granolah’s foster father, cuts him off just in time to inform him that Bardock, Goku’s dad, protected them from Frieza’s invasion of Cereal forty years ago. Thanks to this intelligence, Monaito will not be able to murder them. Heeters, who were responsible for the destruction of Cereal, also killed Granolah’s mother, Muezli, during the attack. Bardock freed Monaito and Granolah from the clutches of the youngest Heeter Gas by defeating it.
As the current moment draws to a close, Granolah, Monaito, Goku, and Vegeta are about to face their death at the hands of the Heeters Oil, Maki, and Gas. A request to the Cerealian Dragon has granted Gas his greatest desire: to become the most formidable warrior in the universe. While Vegeta is fetching a Senzu bean, Gas quickly and easily defeats Granolah and Goku. Vegeta gave the bean to Granolah, and soon after, Granolah challenges Gas to a battle, which he quickly and easily wins. As soon as Elec came, he took the necklace off of Gas that was limiting his powers. In this episode, Gas loses control but, with Elec’s help, regains it. Goku uses Instant Transmission to keep Gas preoccupied with Cereal while Granolah and Vegeta are defenseless. After their fight, Goku, Granolah, Vegeta, and Monaito decide it’s better to rest in his house. A recording of Bardock’s victory against Gas through sheer force of will is included in the scouter that Monaito gives to Goku.
Monaito cares to Granolah’s wounds while Goku and Vegeta fight a resurrected Gas. They lose the war despite heroic attempts, but Gas’s lifespan has been drastically shortened because of it. In the end, Granolah does return, and he seems to have defeated him. As Goku, Vegeta, and Granolah work to save Monaito’s life, Gas resurfaces, stronger yet weaker than before, and deals several fatal blows. Granolah looks after Monaito while Goku and Vegeta fight Gas. The
efforts of Goku and Vegeta come to nothing. Frieza shows up on Planet Cereal
after being lured there by Elec so that Gas may kill him. Having spent the last
decade honing his skills in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Frieza wastes no time in
eliminating Gas and Elec. And then he reveals his latest transformation, Black
Frieza, and quickly disposes of Goku and Vegeta. He leaves after recruiting Oil and
Maki to his side. Because Whis has appeared and cured Monaito, Goku and Vegeta have been saved.
